General Manager Rick Stegall was born and raised in Santa Clarita (Calif.) where he grew up around the game of golf. He and his cousin were taught from a young age by his uncle, all of whom are in the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA).
Golf kept Rick on the right track through school and paved his way through college. He attended Pierce College and graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Engineering in 1984 with ambitions of becoming an architect. But golf soon beckoned Rick as he acquired his PGA card at the age of 27 while at Vista Valencia Golf Course in Santa Clarita. He went on to become the Director of Golf at Industry Hills Golf Club at the Pacific Palms Resort for the next eight years.
From there, he went to Lakeside Golf Club, where he served as Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf from 1996 until 2015, when he became Head Golf Professional here at Woodland Hills Country Club. As a golf professional, Rick is particularly proud of his work with juniors. He has enjoyed watching the success of many former students who have thrived in the industry. For his work at the club with members and service, Rick was named the Southern California Metro Chapter Golf Professional of the Year in 2018. His engineering background and multiple talents for solving new problems have made him well-suited in his role as General Manager at Woodland Hills, a position he started in October of 2021. He thrives on identifying problems which need to be fixed and learning what is required to resolve it, just as he taught himself woodworking and mechanics. Rick and his wife were married in 1984 and have a daughter together. They continue to live in his native Santa Clarita with their dog.
