Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mark Sadoff discovered his love for golf at an early age, initially introduced to the sport by his grandfather. His golf journey began modestly at a small driving range in Calabasas, but it wasn't until his family moved to Palm Springs that he started taking the sport seriously. Despite his interest in tennis, the allure of golf became irresistible, especially after he started practicing late at night on empty golf courses. His dedication paid off by the age of 17 when he became a scratch golfer, a testament to his natural ability and minimal formal training.
Mark's journey took a brief detour from golf as he ventured into the food and banquet industry in Las Vegas for seven years. Upon his return to Los Angeles, he joined the Braemar Country Club in a similar role, managing banquets. However, his love for golf beckoned, and he began to play more regularly, catching the attention of the club's members and staff. This led to an offer to transition into the role of an assistant pro, an opportunity Mark accepted, setting his foot firmly in the golf industry.
After impressing in his role at Braemar, Mark was approached by Kerry Hopps from Woodland Hills Country Club for an open position. Despite the challenging start on his first day at the annual member-guest tournament, he embraced the challenge with grace and resilience. In 2021, Mark's dedication and love for the sport culminated in his promotion to Co-Head Golf Professional at the club. Focusing on fundamentals, he has a deep passion for teaching the game to others. Mark takes immense pride in helping people and making a difference in their lives, and despite his impressive career, he remains a humble and dedicated player, still carrying a + (plus) handicap.
